John Stratoudakis - Bio

I believe in the power of the image - it fascinates me. My father was a director of photography in film productions. Thus, due to stimuli in childhood, growing in an environment full of perceptions from Cinema, I've learned to respect the seductive power of the story which resides inside the image. My work as a photographer moving like a satellite around of the very notion of Cinema, conceptually as well as aesthetically. All my stories and characters are real, but at the same time, they might be fiction or dreams. I aim at informing the audience about the characters and their world and to initiate the viewer towards different interpretations of the structure and the outcome.

Photographer, film director, and submission reviewer at Lens Culture.
John studied Photography at School of Applied Arts of Volos (2000) and at Michigan State University / School of Arts and Letters, via distance learning academic program (2016). Also studied European Civilization at Hellenic Open University / School of Humanities, and Film Studies/Film Direction at the New York College. His work has been presented and published in various Film and Photography Festivals in Europe, Asia, United States and Latin America.
